New three-year commitment, part of the ‘1,000 Trees a Day, Every Day’ project expands FARM Rio’s restoration efforts in Brazil.

Vancouver, B.C., October 5, 2026 - veritree, the platform powering verified nature restoration, and FARM Rio, the global, Rio-born, women’s fashion brand, today announce that FARM Rio is taking the next step in its sustainability journey with an investment of more than 1,000,000 trees in Maranhão, Brazil over the next three years.

‍

Delivered in partnership with veritree, the platform powering verified nature restoration, this initiative builds on FARM Rio’s longstanding dedication to caring for and regenerating nature through its "1,000 trees a day, every day" initiative.

‍

Following its recent milestone of investing in the planting of more than two million trees, FARM Rio remains guided by its five pillars of action—transparency, nature, culture, people, and circularity. Through this next chapter, the brand continues to turn impact into legacy, combining environmental restoration with community investment to inspire a more responsible and regenerative approach to fashion.

‍

Through veritree's technology platform, planted trees will be monitored using field data, GPS coordinates, species information, and ongoing ecosystem monitoring, providing FARM Rio with transparent, measurable insight into the environmental and community outcomes generated by its investment.

‍

FARM Rio continues to focus most of its efforts on giving back to Brazil’s rich ecosystems and communities. This latest restoration project will help recover degraded landscapes in Maranhão, supporting biodiversity, strengthening ecosystem resilience, and creating meaningful employment opportunities for local communities.

‍

“Nature is at the heart of everything we do, which is why it is one of our strategic pillars,” said Andrezza Cruz, FARM Rio’s Head of Sustainability. "Planting trees has never been about reaching a number—it's about giving back to the country that inspires us every day. As we continue to grow this commitment, we wanted a partner who could help us better understand and demonstrate the impact we're creating. Working with veritree allows us to pair our long-term vision with verified data, giving our customers greater confidence and transparency in the restoration journey we're supporting."

‍

As consumer expectations continue to shift toward brands having greater transparency and accountability, the FARM Rio-veritree partnership also reflects a broader evolution in how fashion brands approach sustainability, moving beyond verbal commitments to measurable, verifiable outcomes.

‍

“Restoring forests in Maranhão can strengthen biodiversity, support local communities and help protect an ecosystem that is critical to Brazil’s natural landscape,” said Derrick Emsley, co-founder and CEO of veritree. “Delivering those outcomes requires consistent monitoring, reliable data and transparency as these projects grow over time. FARM Rio has already demonstrated a long-term commitment to restoration, and this next chapter brings greater visibility into how trees are growing and the impact they’re creating for the local community and broader ecosystem.”
