New 30,000-tree project with veritree builds on Husqvarna’s investment in verified nature restoration around the world
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - October 28, 2026 - Husqvarna, a global leader in outdoor power products, announces a new nature restoration project in South Carolina, in partnership with veritree, a technology platform that powers verified nature restoration. The initiative will support the planting and verification of 30,000 trees in areas impacted by Hurricane Helene, helping restore ecosystems damaged by the storm.
The project marks the latest milestone in Husqvarna’s long-term partnership with veritree and its commitment to global nature restoration. To date, more than 700,000 trees have been planted across mangrove, terrestrial, and agroforestry restoration projects in Brazil, Kenya, Senegal, and Tanzania, restoring over 145 hectares of land.
Forests and outdoor environments have been at the heart of Husqvarna for more than three centuries. That connection is particularly meaningful in the Carolinas, where Husqvarna has a longstanding presence, including its North American headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, and operations in South Carolina. The restoration project builds on that connection by directing investment toward the recovery of forests affected by one of the most destructive storms to hit the southeastern United States in recent years.
“Husqvarna has always had a deep connection to forests and the people who live, work, and spend time in them,” said Jonas Wilaredt, Vice President of Sustainability Affairs at Husqvarna. “As South Carolina moves through another storm season, the lasting impacts of Hurricane Helene are an important reminder that recovery continues long after a storm has passed. This project builds on the restoration work we have supported around the world and reflects our commitment to helping forests and communities recover and build greater resilience for the future.”
Hurricane Helene caused significant damage to forests across South Carolina when it swept through the region in September 2024, leaving forest landowners and communities facing a long recovery. Husqvarna’s investment will support the restoration of damaged landscapes by primarily planting loblolly pine, a fast-growing species native to the southeastern United States.
These restoration efforts will also contribute to long-term environmental and community benefits, including carbon sequestration, biodiversity, ecosystem resilience, and local restoration work.

Through veritree’s platform, planting activity will be monitored using field data, GPS coordinates, species information, and ongoing ecosystem monitoring. Veritree’s approach provides proof behind what is planted, where restoration is taking place, and greater visibility into how projects progress over time.
"After a major event like Hurricane Helene, restoring forests is critical to helping landscapes recover and become more resilient to future storms," said Derrick Emsley, co-founder and CEO of veritree. "Healthy forests provide habitat for wildlife, protection from winds and floodwaters, and economic support for surrounding communities. Rebuilding them, though, requires consistent monitoring, care, and transparency over time. Husqvarna’s investment reflects its dedication to meaningful post-hurricane restoration and to standing behind that commitment with real accountability."
Husqvarna and veritree’s partnership spans restoration projects across multiple ecosystems and geographies.
