Survivability

Post- Planting MonitoringPlanting a tree is only the beginning. veritree verifies that trees planted support a healthy ecosystem through post-planting monitoring, with each planting site checked at defined intervals after planting. All monitoring is completed through the veritree app.

Trail Cameras

Eyes on the ForestWe install trail cameras at select sites to monitor wildlife presence. Trail cameras are turned on when motion is detected. These cameras spot larger species, including mammals, that aren’t detected using bioacoustic sensors.

Bioacoustic Monitors

Eavesdropping on WildlifeRestoring an ecosystem means bringing back more than trees. veritree uses bioacoustic monitoring to listen to the landscape, capturing the sounds of birds at select restoration sites. These recordings offer a window into biodiversity over time, helping verify that as forests grow, life is returning with them.

Tech Hub for Tree InsightsThe veritree App equips planters to collect verifiable, geotagged data. The app can be used to track planting activities, conduct survival monitoring, and collect socioeconomic surveys, even offline. We review all data coming in through the app to ensure accuracy. This ground-level evidence builds transparency and trust, connecting local restoration with global impact.

(Light Detection and Ranging)

A LiDAR system measures the time it takes for emitted light to travel to the ground and back, called the two-way travel time. That time is then used to calculate distances between objects and other metrics such as elevation.

Hexagons are the most circular-shaped polygon that can tessellate to form an evenly spaced grid. This circularity of a hexagon grid allows it to represent curves in the patterns of the data more naturally than square grids.

Drone Mapping

Drone mapping is used to capture high-resolution images and data, allowing for precise monitoring of tree growth, land coverage, and ecosystem changes over time.
